Bubble tea, tea houses, Asian bakeries and dessert shops in this group are usually walk-in, counter-order businesses with a menu board overhead listing sweetness and ice levels you can adjust when ordering. Standard bubble tea customization includes sugar level (0-100%), ice level, and a choice of toppings like boba pearls, pudding or jelly, usually at a small extra charge. Asian bakeries sell items individually with tongs and a tray, cafeteria-style, rather than pre-boxed, and pastries are typically less sweet than Western bakery items. Lines build up quickly after school and in the evening, especially near colleges. Most of these businesses accept cards and mobile pay and skew younger in clientele and atmosphere.

Hreat place to celebrate special occasions or a quiet tea time with a friend. While one can dress casual, highly recommend to at least dress formal casual. Chado Tea Room is NOT cheap, however reasonably priced ($30-40 per person on the low end. There are higher itemed meals/tea service plans). The atmosphere & staff are friendly, the teas & sandwiches are delicious. They also sell loose teas separately to take home. Also cute selections of tea cup, pots & sets to purchase & take home. Overall this coffee drinker enjoyed The Chado Tea Room. Definitely recommend & looking forward to return.

We had The Birthday Afternoon tea . Tea was good. Sandwiches were not fresh , they seemed toasted but were refrigerated overnight. not fresh , slightly soggy. Scones were overdone. No clothed cream or butter only "Chado Cream " which was whipped cream from a can . The dessert was also underwhelming. There was a slice of chocolate cake sliced in half the wrong way ! So only one person got the icing and the other did not . No salt , pepper, cream or sugar were available or offered. The mock champagne was not good at all . Fruit was not fresh . We did receive some sweet tea cups but they were paid for in the price. We also received one slive of birthday cake even though we paid for 2 . Soup and chocolates were the best part . My friend had the salad and wished she got the soup.

Took my 3 year old spontaneously because we were in the neighborhood (no reservation needed during the weekday) she loved the whole experience. Although I would have loved to dress us up for the occation. The food was delicious and the endless tea was amazing. The mango blooming green tea was so relaxing put us right to sleep as soon as we got home. The staff was friendly and kind the atmosphere was relaxing it really was a nice treat.

Highly recommend. Such a beautiful and well maintained tea house. It is so rare to find tea rooms like this in the states. Staff is extraordinary, kind, and helpful. The selection of teas is amazing. Over a dozen to pick. I highly recommend butterscotch. The taste of everything is also good especially for the price. It’s definitely worth it. I recommend to do a reservation if you’re going have over two people and parking is free all around.
